Tired of typing daycare logs into your baby tracker? Here are your options.

The short answer: if your daycare logs your baby's day in an app, databébé can add those naps, bottles, and diapers to Huckleberry automatically, so you never retype a log. We're adding daycare apps all the time; see which ones work today. If your daycare still uses paper sheets, photo-scanning is your best bet. Here's how every option compares.

Why this is so annoying in the first place

Your daycare already logs every nap, bottle, and diaper, just in their app. Your baby tracker can't see it, so at pickup, when all you want is to get your baby, you're doing data entry instead.

Most parents give up tracking within a month of starting daycare, which is a shame because tools like Huckleberry's SweetSpot only work when they have the whole day. One missing 90-minute nap can throw off bedtime.

Option 1: Keep typing it in by hand

How it works: Open the daycare report, then manually log each entry.

What you still do: Everything. It's a few minutes every daycare day, and it's often the reason parents quit tracking altogether.

Good for: Occasional daycare days, or if you only care about one thing (like the last nap).

Option 2: Photograph the daycare report

How it works: Some trackers can read a photo or screenshot of the daily report and turn it into entries. Huckleberry's assistant, Berry, can log from a photo of a childcare report, and apps like Robin Baby offer something similar.

What you still do: Take screenshots or a photo of the daily report each afternoon, then confirm that the entries came out right (handwriting and times are easy to misread).

Good for: Daycares that send paper sheets or use an app no tool connects to yet.

Option 3: Have the daycare log straight into your tracker

How it works: A few trackers, like Baby Connect, let caregivers log into your child's account directly.

What you still do: Convince your daycare to use a second app on top of the one they already use. Most centers won't, since their app is how they run the room.

Good for: Nannies, grandparents, or small home daycares willing to share an app.

Option 4: Let databébé update Huckleberry automatically

How it works: You connect your daycare app and Huckleberry once. On your daycare days, before pickup, databébé fetches the day's naps, bottles, and diapers from your daycare app and adds them to Huckleberry.

What you still do: Nothing, once it's set up. No photos, no reviewing, no typing.

Good for: Families whose daycare uses Lillio or Procare and who track with Huckleberry. Brightwheel is next up, and Tadpoles and My Bright Day are on the waitlist.

Why I built databébé

I'm Margo. My son started daycare at four months, and I was the parent in the parking lot logging his whole day into Huckleberry before I could go in and get him, or worse, while pushing the stroller home. Photo-scanning still meant doing something every single day. I wanted the daycare's notes to just be there. So I built the tool that does that. Read the longer story →

Frequently asked questions

How do I stop manually entering daycare logs into my baby tracker?

Use a tool that moves the data for you. If your daycare uses Lillio or Procare and you use Huckleberry, databébé adds the day's naps, bottles, and diapers to Huckleberry automatically before pickup. Otherwise, a tracker that can read a photo of the daycare report cuts the typing down to a quick photo and review.

Can daycare apps sync directly with Huckleberry?

Not officially. Huckleberry doesn't have a built-in connection to daycare apps like Lillio, Procare, or Brightwheel. databébé is an independent tool that connects the two on your behalf. It isn't affiliated with Huckleberry or the daycare apps.

Which daycare apps work with databébé?

Lillio and Procare today. Brightwheel is next up, and Tadpoles and My Bright Day are on the waitlist. The most-requested apps get built first.

Is photo-scanning or automatic updating better?

Automatic updating is less work because there's nothing to do each day. Photo-scanning works with more daycares, including ones that use paper. If your daycare's app is supported, automatic is the easier choice.

How much does databébé cost?

$3/month, an Early Access Price that's locked in for as long as you're subscribed. You can try it free for 7 days.

databébé is an independent tool and isn't affiliated with or endorsed by Huckleberry, Lillio, Procare, Robin Baby, or Baby Connect. Feature details for other apps are as of September 2026.
